Menopause can bring with it a myriad of discomfort. From irritability and mood swings, to sadness and depression. From fatigue and insomnia to anxiety and panic. Forgetfulness and difficulty concentrating are on the menu, and let's not forget about the hot flashes and night sweats!
Yoga therapy offers as many - if not more - tools and techniques as menopause offers up symptoms. Join us to learn techniques to calm when feeling anxious and irritable, and energize when feeling down and out. Other wellness techniques will be incorporated as well to help you manage your menopause mindfully!

Banish Back Pain
4 Week Series
Back pain affects over 80% of the population at some point, often becoming chronic, and is a leading cause of doctors visits and missed days at work. Misuse and under-use of our bodies are often the culprit. Not only is chronic back pain uncomfortable, overly tight back muscles can lead to migraines, spasms, herniated disks, etc. Medication is commonly prescribed, but often simple movement, stretching/strengthening and stress management can be just as effective, if not more. Our bodies are designed to move and movement is key. Stress reduction plays an equal role because stress causes tension in the back muscles which feel 20% more intensity than other muscles in the body since their job is to protect the spine. When the mind worries, it sends messages through the nervous system to the muscles and the muscles tense in preparation to defend. This recurring cycle can cause chronic pain.
The Banish Back Pain program* teaches education about back pain, gentle movements, proper posturing and stress reduction techniques to improve or banish nagging back pain. A take home program is included for participants to continue on their own. No yoga experience required.

Overcoming Anxiety Program
Held over 4 Sessions: TBA
If you suffer from anxiety, whether it is situational or long-term chronic, this workshop will give you tools to empower yourself to heal from the inside-out, and lessen the effects that anxiety has on your mind and body.
This workshop is designed for those that suffer from anxiety; GAD, Panic Disorder, PTSD. Even though it is taught in a group setting, this is a very private and personal experience. The lights will be low, presentations are given with visual aids (power point presentation, handouts, etc.), and all activities are private; No group work or activities and you will never be asked to speak publicly.
Explore self-healing modalities that are effective and profoundly liberating when combating the debilitating effects of anxiety. Learn breath work, meditation and gentle movement techniques that help to break the psychological, biochemical, and physical cycles that keep anxiety in your life. The combination of the methods that we explore are very powerful.
A presentation of what happens in your mind and body while experiencing anxiety, and tools to “turn off” the fight or flight response, and “turn on” the relaxation response will be offered. A take-home program with daily exercises and lifestyle suggestions will be handed out as well as a Yoga Nidra cd (deep guided relaxation) to practice in the comfort of your own home.
