Yoga therapy is not talk therapy. It is a gentle practice incorporating the traditional practices of yoga such as breathing and meditative practices to ease stress, and specific movements and postures to strengthen and open the body. It is coupled with modern scientific and medical knowledge to create wellness programs based on the individual’s needs. It is accessible to anyone with issues ranging from a stressful life, to those with stiff, sore muscles, to those living with chronic illness and pain. Looking at the person as a whole, and not just a body part or condition to be fixed, yoga therapy aims to bring balance to that person on all levels of their being.
We all have the innate ability to heal from within. Yoga therapy helps put us back in touch with that ability. If you are experiencing discomfort in your body and in your life, a therapeutic practice could very likely improve your condition and overall health and happiness.
Yoga - in one form or another - has been there for Alicia through many life events, health challenges and circumstances. As such, she has developed practices , clinics and workshops to address them. First for herself, then for her clients and students. On top of working with her own experiences, she has worked extensively with autoimmune disorders, cancer, arthritis, anxiety & depression and back care, and is currently developing a pelvic floor balance program to address both hypotonic and hypertonic pelvic floor issues. Her programs are created individually to work with each person privately or visit WORKSHOPS to see what she offers in the way of group clinics and workshops.
